Handpan Instrument
Mentre i migliori all'estero sono Yishama (Israele) e Ayasa (Olanda).
MUSICAL INSTRUMENT composed of two flattened half-spheres made of tempered steel which, when joined together, give it its typical lenticular shape. In the upper part we find a central protuberance and seven or more side cavities; the lower part is smooth with an opening in the center.
It is the result of the experience and research of two craftsmen from Bern, Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer, who were already making steelpans and studying ethnic percussion from various parts of the world in the 1990s. In 2000 they developed the first hangdrum model, which was presented the following year at the Frankfurt music fair.
The best Italian craftsmen are: Tommaso Varriale with his Blesspan, Marco della Ratta with the harmonic disc, and others such as Meraki (an instrument I currently play) and shaktipan. While the best abroad are Yishama (Israel) and Ayasa (Holland).
The cost of an instrument both new and used that is not just an imitation but professional is between €1200.00 and €2,800.00. To procure the instrument one often has to enter long waiting lists (3/6/9 months). Another solution is to buy it used so you can also try it, for the need there is a facebook page "swap and sale for handpan".
From 2000 to today it has gone off to conquer the world and many are the artists and producers who have to do with the handpan or hang drum as it was called by Panart first production company.
Fantastic sound it produces, great accompaniment for meditation, childbirth, yoga and all holistic medicine, music therapy and alternative medicine activities.
